  • On Sept 29th, 2008, a little voice told me to take my (rather large and inconvenient) camera kit with me early in the pre-dawn hours, stand in a particular spot, and wait for the sun. This is what i saw. Getting to experience this special moment is one of the things that makes me say <a href="http:/gallery/5964636_zVspJ">this.</a>
  • This was taken during the 2010 winter solstice lunar eclipse, with a borrowed 1000mm Nikkor reflex lens. (Thanks Ryan!)
  • This is the 'super perigee moon' of 2011-03-19. When the moon's closest approach to Earth coincides with a full moon, it looks brighter and bigger. This one was 14% bigger than normal and the largest in 18 years. This is an HDR composite of four images taken of the moon at approximately 5am mountain daylight time in Broomfield, Colorado.
  • Jose A. Hinojosa, a former P.O.W. honored in San Antonio's Fiesta Flambeau parade, April 25th, 2009.<br /> Update: I am sad to report that Mr. Hinojosa passed away on July 25th, 2011 after a long battle with cancer. Mr. Hinojosa was a very important part of the United States Military Veterans Parade Association and will be missed dearly.
