San Antonio Fiesta Flambeau Parade 2009 : As described on the Fiesta Flambeau Parade Association's website:"This parade has been nicknamed the "People's Parade". And for a very good reason. It is enjoyed by more than 500,000 people along its route, as well as another 1.5 million watching its televised live commercial-free broadcast.
The parade streams through the streets of beautiful downtown San Antonio as it makes its 2.6 mile trek.

So what makes this any different from any other parade, you might ask?

The magic happens when the sun goes down and the parade is illuminated by thousands of lights on the floats, dancers, horses, cars, and bands, becoming a parade of light and fun for all throughout the streets of San Antonio."

San Antonio Fiesta Flambeau Parade 2009

Bobcat Build 2009 : On Saturday April 4th, 2009, thousands of students from Texas State University at San Marcos took up shovels, rakes, trash bags and cleaning supplies and helped out their community at dozens and dozens of work sites.
This is a small sampling of some of their efforts :-)

Bobcat Build 2009

Lackland AirFest 2008, San Antonio 11-01 : Lackland Air Force base here in San Antonio hosted a great series of air performances over the Nov 1-2 weekend. Highlights included the F-22 Raptor, a "heritage" flight including the Raptor, F-15 Eagle, F-16 Falcon, and P-40 Warhawk together, and a parachute jump show from the Army's Golden Knights.
